Skipi

The AI assistant seafarers live in — and the data layer maritime decisions depend on.

Thesis

2.57M seafarers crew the ships that move 80%+ of world trade, yet they remain among the least digitized professionals on earth. Skipi gives each seafarer an AI assistant that knows their vessel, role, certificates and career — one they live inside and that remembers them between visits. That engagement compounds into what the industry has never had: proprietary, ground-truth signal on ships, companies and ports, from the people actually onboard. The assistant is the wedge; the data is the asset.

Why now

AI makes a genuinely personal maritime assistant possible for the first time; English is regulation-mandated across the profession; and connectivity has reached the ships — 68,528 commercial vessels now run low-earth-orbit internet (Valour, 2026), with near-universal crew access.

Traction today

An owned audience of 220,000+ seafarers and maritime followers — 195K on YouTube plus Instagram, Telegram and TikTok — a warm, low-CAC channel from day one. A live AI assistant in production (assistant.skipi.app) with persistent per-user memory, already in early use. The first mobile app (Seafarer) is in App Store and Google Play review now. Pre-revenue: monetization is the current build, not yet switched on.

Product

A live AI assistant seafarers live in — assistant, app platform, plugins and decision support. Free for seafarers (Seafarer, Onboard) as the top of a trusted funnel; paid licenses for Broker and Crewing ($10/mo) and a PRO tier for power users.

The compounding asset

As seafarers work inside Skipi, they generate structured signal on vessels, employers and ports — the ground-truth needed by those who decide about ships: crew managers hiring, charterers fixing tonnage, buyers in sale-and-purchase (>2,000 vessels / >$50B in 2024), inspectors and vetting (~22,000 SIRE 2.0 and 100,000+ Port State Control inspections a year). A data moat that deepens with every active user and that no competitor can back-fill.

Founder–market fit

Built by Captain Tymur Rudov — a ship's master at sea since 2013 and a marine superintendent in technical management. He has commanded the vessels his users sail and worked the shore side that buys the data Skipi will supply. Not a team studying the market — the market building for itself, audience already in hand.

Efficiency

The product reached live, in-store and in-memory on the founder's own resources. Distribution is owned, not bought.

Stage

Pre-seed, founder-led, bootstrapped. In early conversations with investors who back defensible, data-driven platforms before the category is obvious. Not a public offering — a private invitation to talk.
